Douglas County Democratic Caucus Updates
The County Convention is on April 14th.
To: Friends, Family, Colleagues, Caucus Goers and the wonderful Democrats of Douglas County;
Roberta Lange, the Nevada Democratic Party State Chair sent this to all the County Chairs and I wanted to share it with you. You all did a great job at the caucus and we appreciate the involvement. We look forward to seeing more of you in the upcoming months to help re-elect President Barack Obama.
Sincerely,
Cindy Trigg
Chair
Douglas County Democratic Central Committee (DCDCC)
Message From Roberta:
Hello everyone. I want to thank you for your continuous and diligent work to elect democrats up and down the ticket. We have much to do including reelecting our President Barack Obama who is fighting for the middle class to protect SS and Medicare keep jobs in America. We saw last weekend at the GOP caucuses the front runner Mitt Romney say foreclosures should hit the bottom before help arrives. Tell that to Nevadans who have the highest foreclosure rate. We need a president who will stand with Nevada and that’s Barack Obama.
Again thank you for you dedication!!!
Onward to victory in 2012
Roberta Lange

Thank you, Douglas Caucus participants.
The Douglas County Precinct Caucuses on Saturday, January 21, were a great success. Old and new friends battled the wind, rain, snow and even a closed Highway 88 to attend. The business of a caucus is primarily to pick a party’s candidate for the general election. We have our candidate, President Barack Obama.
After giving a warm and welcoming acceptance of letters from the President, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Congresswoman Shelley Berkley and candidate for Congress Dina Titus, the over 220 caucus goers got down to the business of the day.
Caucus delegates showed enthusiastic support for President Obama. They elected delegates to the April 14 Douglas County Democratic Convention and submitted planks for consideration in county, state and Democratic National Party platforms.
A very special thank you goes to all the new Democrats who came out to meet other Douglas Democrats. I also thank Katherine Winans and Nancy Downey for skillfully and professionally keeping the communications flowing. Thanks go to Jo Etta Brown for coordinating and training the temporary precinct chairs and Melanie Meehan-Crossley, Beth Swanberg, Jan Walls and James Brown, who is first vice chair of the Nevada State Democratic Party, for handling the registration. I want to extend special thanks to Ruth Strand for all the work she put into arranging catering and 88 Cups in Minden for the great food and service.
Our Campaign for 2012 has begun. We look forward to seeing all of those who attended on Saturday often during the next ninth months until Election Day. Working together regardless of party is what will move our economy forward.
Cindy Trigg,
Chair
Douglas County Democratic Central Committee
